Thinking about our skin and looking for ways to keep it looking youthful isn’t a new phenomenon.  For thousands of years we have been searching for a way to stop the aging process… from Cleopatra keeping a stable of over 700 donkeys to allow for her daily donkey milk baths, to Elizabethan women places sliced raw meat on their faces, to crocodile-dung mud masks.  I LOVE me some medium rare ribeye IN my mouth, not around it!

When I found myself staring at a photo from a holiday party wondering, OMG where in the actual hell did all those lines come from?? luckily I didn’t have to go too far or to lengths too great to help.  I sent an SOS, I mean text, to Rebecca (my now sister in law).  I knew she had what I needed. Actually, she and other consultants like herself, are the only way to get what I needed.  I explain the longer version of my personal Rodan+Fields story, here (along with additional info about this company), but the short of it? I knew the products worked.  And if not? I knew I had 60 days to try them out and get my money back if I hated them or even if I just didn’t love them.  I literally had nothing to lose except those damn lines that stared back at me in the photo.

When I used the online solution tool that each consultant has I think it recommended the Reverse Regimen and Macro-E tool (I’m pretty sure I said my concerns were dark marks and wrinkles). But I wanted the Redefine Regimen too, and the Amp MD roller, and the Night Renewing Serum (now Intensive Renewing Serum), and the Microdermabrasion Paste, and the Lip Renewing Serum, and… and… and… see where I’m going? I knew I wanted NEEDED more. So I signed up to get a business kit (because I’m frugal and logical).

Within a couple weeks I noticed a huge shift in the texture of my skin.  My once rough in some spots skin felt good all over. I mean smooth and soft all over good.  And the giant pores I once filled in with pore-filler were getting smaller. In weeks I tell you, WEEKS. And then the lines started getting a little softer. And the dark spots were getting a little lighter.  The company places a large sticker on boxes of regimens encouraging users to take before photos.  Let’s think about that for a minute… a company that makes some pretty big claims and promises with their skincare products asking you to take a before photo… they are SO confident in their products that they actually want YOU to have proof of the amazing transformation that will take place. Who does that?? Not many, I’ll tell ya that. Certainly no one that isn’t certain their products will do what they say they’ll do.

So are you wondering, regimen? Oh lord, what is THIS going to entail??  It’s just their fancy word for a set of multi-med therapy products. The doctors pioneered this concept when they created Proactiv Solution in 1995 to treat and prevent acne.  And now they’re doing for all the other skin issues (sensitivity, sun damage, wrinkles, and even prevention for that more youthful skin) what they did years ago for acne-prone skin. They’ve even developed new products that work even better for acne prone skin.  There are 5 and a half regimens that make the core of the Rodan+Fields products. Regimens are sets of 3 or 4 or 5 products that are used together in a particular order to achieve particular results. Although some customization can be done for specific needs, the core philosophy is that these doctors have used the right formulations of the right ingredients and you’re going to use them in the right order.  But don’t let the idea of 4-5 products scare you… we’re talking 3-4 steps each morning and 3 steps each night. If the regimens are the core body of the company, there are a few products that join in like the arms and legs. Do you NEED them to see results? So you’ve read through this stuff, maybe you’ve even used the Solution Tool and you know what is recommended. What’s the next step? Well, ordering the products and you can do that one of three ways:

1. as a retail customer and pay the prices you see on the website plus shipping.  You’ll always have someone like me as your skincare concierge of sorts, but you’re paying a heck of a lot of money for it. Especially when there are other options.
2. as a Preferred Customer and pay 10% less than you see on the website and never pay for shipping as long as you’re placing an order for more than $80.  There is currently a little bit of a process for this to happen though, so unless I’ve personally walked you through that process, please check with me first before you place an order to get free shipping. You have access to someone like me to take care of things for you if you so desire, you have access to product specialists via a special PC Perks Hotline, you’ll get a reminder from Rodan+Fields as you approach the 60 day mark to replenish products you need (and most likely one from your consultant if you have one like me—read here for why I mostly hate all direct sales companies because of their autoship programs and return policies), and you also get in on some of the best stuff before retail customers.  Almost always when we’re releasing new products they are available to Preferred Customers before retail customers. There’s a one-time enrollment fee of $19.95, but it almost always pays for itself in the very first purchase.  Be sure to ask me about how you can get the enrollment fee reimbursed!
3. as a Consultant and pay 25% less than you see on the website with a one time purchase of products up to 60% off depending on the kit. Not only does this option get you your initial products at a MUCH deeper discount as well as at a better discount afterwards, this also gives you the option of getting paid for sharing your experience with others.
